How to Transfer/Deposit Crypto Using a Sub-Account

Sub-accounts allow trading in contracts, spots, leveraged spots, and deposits (for standard sub-accounts), while withdrawals remain restricted. Funds can only be transferred from the main account to sub-accounts. To move funds back, actions must be initiated from the main account.

Transferring Crypto from Main Account to Sub-Account

On Web

  1. Log in to your OKX main account and navigate via:

    • Profile > Sub-Accounts, locate the target sub-account, select Transfer, or
    • Assets > Transfer > Sub-Account Transfer
  2. Choose the Sub-Account and preferred crypto under Asset.
  3. Adjust From/To details.
  4. Enter Amount, click Transfer to complete.

On Mobile App

  1. Log in to the main account, select Assets.
  2. Open Transfer, choose Main & Sub-Account.
  3. Select the target Sub-Account, toggle From/To as needed.
  4. Pick the crypto, input Amount, tap Confirm.

Transferring Crypto from Sub-Account to Main Account

On Web

  1. From the main account, go to Transfer Sub-Account.
  2. Select the sub-account and crypto, click Switch to reverse From/To.
  3. Enter Amount, click Transfer.

On Mobile App

  1. Under Assets, select Transfer > Main & Sub-Account.
  2. Choose the sub-account, tap Switch to modify From/To.
  3. Input Amount, confirm.

Depositing Crypto via Sub-Account

Only standard sub-accounts support deposits. Activation must be done from the main account:

  1. Log in to the main account, navigate to Profile > Sub-Accounts.
  2. Locate the standard sub-account, click Actions, enable Deposit.
